Breaking through the ice

Breaking through the ice while writing the first Multimedia-Stock blog doesn't seam as a much demanding task since all is done and set up is making me really happy. Next to that, one of more demanding sites has been created from scratch according to us, the creators of multimedia-stock and a few friends. Establishing multimedia-stock seamed like a big bite of a even bigger cake, but we managed little by little and in retrospective it looks quite easily. Of course, all that wouldn't have been possible without the help of all the people who have participated in the making of this community, who have given us their support, but a big thanks to them will come in the end of this blog.

It all started one fine winter day. While doing the usual work for the employer at the time, the advertising agency where I worked as a copywriter, and drinking my twenty something coffee of the morning, staring at the Mac displaying nothing but a blank Word document, my phone sounded the theme from Kill Bill, which I used as a text message alert. "Must meet for coffee after work" – was the message from my dear friend, which I have known all my life, went to school with, and have been friends with ever since. The SMS was nothing unusual considering the fact that we used to do the after working hours coffees here and there, emphasis on the must do weekend getting together. My dear friend worked as a designer for the competition, I must confess that I now work for them as well.

The afternoon get together started off with the sentence: "I have an idea"; I hope he doesn't have the idea of starting a band because I left my instruments in high school. And the attempts of riming in Junior High weren't all that good to begin with. If he wants to organize an online, multiplayer team for playing games, I'm always up for that, but for all other hobbies I just don't have the time.

- "Imagine a site containing the perfectly creative works from all around the world, where people could present themselves to others and share their work.."

Ok, but there are sites like that already..

- No there aren't, imagine some form of multimedia, photos, 3d models, sounds all in one place and all filtrated so that each could be called a piece of art.

Ok....

- Now imagine that the two of us made such a site!!

Yeah, right...

Even though at first I felt a bit stupid, not understanding what this was exactly about, but after the 2nd or 3rd coffee things started to settle on me. The dialog from my worst nightmares would be something like this: Daddy, daddy, what have you done in life? Well, son, I have worked for some big clients, made ads for them, wrote stuff that you could never be able to see.

It took sleeping over and a "click" in my head, and we decided to go through with the project. Obviously, things didn't go that smooth in the beginning, considering the complexity of the making and the huge amount of web hosting that was required, but a bit of ego tripping and we stuck to it.

Several months passed and it is done. To cut the story short, to all of you reading this blog; Groove&Goblin proudly presents – THE MULTIMEDIA-STOCK!!!

It is here, my dear people, the world!! Upload your works, use those works, comment, criticize, compliment them, suggest those who are just entering the creative world, use Multimedia-Stock to the last byte.
